Live Arts: Speech and Drama
Live Arts Speech and Drama competitions are led by Lucy Willis of Voice Confidence.
Event Details
Speech and Drama competitions offer children and young people the exciting opportunity to share written and spoken words with a friendly and supportive audience and to enjoy the thrilling experience of taking part in Live Arts. Learning how to improve communicating with an audience is a skill to develop for life.
Winners receive a Wenlock Olympian medal, and all competitors receive invaluable professional and constructive feedback on their performance.
Speech and Drama competitions are beneficial to:
Schools & Colleges – particularly as the National Curriculum encourages children and young people to use and practice their oracy skills in front of an audience;
Drama Clubs & Theatre Schools – providing students with valuable performing arts experiences for: a warm-up to exams (such as LAMDA Examinations or Trinity College), or professional audition preparation, or showcase work.
The competitions will take place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March 2024 (subject to the number of entries) with two age sections:
Primary: Up to and including Year 6
