Live Arts Music
Live Arts Music competitions are led by Carole Nicholls.
Event Details
Music has been a part of the Festival since its inception in 1979 and is held in the William Brookes School campus, except for the instrumental classes which are held in the beautiful surroundings of Holy Trinity Church, Much Wenlock (and to take advantage of its rather excellent piano!). It’s a joyous event!
We offer a wonderful opportunity for young musicians to perform to a live audience at the same time, receiving constructive and supportive feedback in a friendly and relaxed environment. There is a class for everyone!
The competitions will take place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March 2024, and entries are warmly invited from musicians aged 18 years and under in three age sections (in school years):
primary: years 3 – 6
intermediary: years 7 – 9
senior: years 10 – 13
There is a wide choice of classes to choose from and performers are encouraged to enter more than one class:
Instrumental:
beginners
solo
small and group ensembles
Singing:
solo
duet or trio
musical theatre: solo, duet or trio
choirs of up to 20 performers
