2021/2022 Short Story Competition

In collaboration with Much Wenlock and District U3A
‘Writers on the Edge’

  • Prizes: £150, £50 and £25 plus a Gold, Silver or Bronze Wenlock Olympian Society (WOS) medal
  • Deadline for entries: Midnight on Monday 15th November 2021
  • Length of story: max 2,500 words
  • The judges are looking for originality, flair and creativity on a theme of the writer’s choice
  • All genres of stories are welcome (excluding Children’s and Young Adult Fiction)
  • Entry Fee: £5 (£8 for 2 entries, £12 for three entries)

Char March, a multi-award-winning short fiction writer, poet and playwright with plays broadcast on Radio 4, will judge and identify the medal winners from a shortlist drawn up by a panel of judges
Winning stories will be published on the WOS website
First prize to be read at a WOS social evening in March 2022
The competition is UK based but International entries are welcome
